Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Google Metadata Analyst with a strong focus on Machine Learning to join our remote team. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and consistency of metadata for our advanced machine learning projects. You will work closely with ML engineers, data scientists, and product managers to define, maintain, and improve metadata standards, directly impacting the performance and reliability of Google’s AI initiatives. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility while maintaining high collaboration standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, define, and maintain metadata schemas and standards for various machine learning datasets and models.
- Perform comprehensive data quality checks on metadata to identify inconsistencies, errors, and missing information.
- Develop and implement processes for metadata creation, ingestion, and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists to understand their metadata needs and integrate solutions into their workflows.
- Troubleshoot metadata-related issues and provide solutions to ensure data integrity.
- Contribute to the development of tools and automation for metadata management and validation.
- Document metadata definitions, processes, and best practices for internal teams.
- Stay current with industry best practices in metadata management, data governance, and machine learning data quality.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and data pipelines.
- Experience with data quality assessment and remediation techniques.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data manipulation and automation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis, metadata management, or a related role, preferably with a focus on machine learning data.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of data governance principles and practices.
- Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed computing environments.
