Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Window & Door Draught Proofer to join our growing team in Warrington, Cheshire. In this essential role, you will be responsible for identifying and sealing draughts in windows and doors in residential properties, directly contributing to our customers’ energy efficiency and comfort. This is a hands-on position requiring practical skills and a commitment to high-quality workmanship. You will be instrumental in helping homeowners reduce their energy consumption and lower their heating bills, playing a vital part in our mission to deliver sustainable home solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of windows and doors to identify sources of draughts and energy loss.
  • Measure, cut, and install appropriate draught-proofing materials, including seals, brushes, and excluders.
  • Ensure all installations are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide clear and concise explanations to customers regarding the work undertaken and the benefits of draught-proofing.
  • Manage and maintain company tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and reports accurately and in a timely manner.

Required Skills

  • Proven practical skills in basic carpentry or general DIY.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical dexterity and ability to work in various home environments.
  • A valid UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in building maintenance, home improvements, or a similar trade.
  • Knowledge of various draught-proofing materials and techniques.
  • Customer service experience in a field-based role.
  • Relevant NVQ or vocational qualification in a trade.
