Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as a Field Hand at our agricultural hub located near Ely, Cambridgeshire. This is an ongoing, full-time position offering stable employment within a thriving agricultural environment. As a Field Hand, you will play a crucial role in the cultivation and harvesting of various crops, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role is ideal for those who enjoy working outdoors, have a strong work ethic, and are looking for a long-term career in agriculture. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for both experienced individuals and those new to the agricultural sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various manual tasks related to crop cultivation, including planting, weeding, thinning, and harvesting.
  • Operate basic farm machinery and equipment under supervision, ensuring safe and efficient use.
  • Assist with irrigation systems, including setting up and monitoring water levels.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of fields, equipment, and work areas.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and company procedures diligently.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily production targets.
  • Report any issues with crops, equipment, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an agricultural or outdoor labour role.

  • Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transport (due to rural location).
