Job Description

Wickes is seeking a meticulous and reliable Skirting Board Glue-Fixer to join our dynamic team in Stockport. This role is essential for ensuring the highest standards of finish in our projects, focusing primarily on the precise installation of skirting boards and other crucial small finishing tasks. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately measure, cut, and install skirting boards using appropriate adhesives and tools.
  • Ensure all skirting boards are level, securely fixed, and have a seamless, professional finish.
  • Perform a variety of other small finishing tasks as required, including caulking, minor surface repairs, and surface preparation.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Adhere strictly to all company health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Report any issues, discrepancies, or material shortages to the supervisor promptly.
  • Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and schedules.
  • Collaborate positively with other team members and contractors on site.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Basic understanding of construction principles and accurate measurement techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in carpentry, joinery, general finishing work, or a similar practical role.

  • Possession of a full, clean UK driving license.
