Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Shopify Catalog Specialist to join our e-commerce team in Guildford. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the high-accuracy data entry and maintenance of our extensive product catalog on the Shopify platform. Your keen eye for detail will ensure that all product information, from descriptions and specifications to pricing and imagery, is impeccable and consistent, directly impacting our online customer experience. This position is vital for maintaining the integrity of our digital storefront and supporting our sales and marketing efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute high-volume, high-accuracy data entry of product information into the Shopify e-commerce platform.
- Ensure all product listings are complete with accurate titles, descriptions, specifications, pricing, inventory levels, and imagery.
- Categorize and tag products appropriately to enhance searchability and user experience.
- Conduct regular audits of existing product data to identify and correct discrepancies or outdated information.
- Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and photography teams to gather necessary product assets and information.
- Manage product variants, bundles, and collections efficiently.
- Adhere to established data entry standards, style guides, and SEO best practices for product listings.
- Monitor inventory levels and update product availability as required.
- Generate reports on catalog data integrity and progress.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable proficiency with the Shopify platform, specifically product and catalog management.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Proven experience in high-accuracy data entry, preferably in an e-commerce environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple product listings and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) or Google Workspace (Sheets).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail or e-commerce operations.
- Familiarity with product information management (PIM) systems or ERP software.
- Basic understanding of HTML for formatting product descriptions.
