Job Description
Are you a vibrant and skilled cocktail server looking for a dynamic part-time opportunity in a prestigious setting? The Grand Sequoia Hotel & Spa is seeking an enthusiastic Weekend Cocktail Server to join our exceptional team. In this role, you will be an integral part of our upscale lounge and bar experience, delivering premium beverage service with grace and efficiency. This position offers significant earning potential through high tips in a busy, high-end environment, perfect for individuals who thrive on providing outstanding customer service and contributing to a luxurious atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a timely and courteous manner.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our drink menu, including cocktails, wines, and spirits, to make informed recommendations.
- Accurately take guest orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Process payments efficiently and handle cash transactions with precision.
- Ensure the bar and lounge areas are kept clean, organized, and stocked throughout your shift.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive service to enhance their experience.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal liquor laws and company policies regarding responsible alcohol service.
- Collaborate effectively with bartenders, other servers, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
- Address guest inquiries and resolve any service issues promptly and professionally.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a cocktail server or bartender in a high-volume establishment.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, upscale environment.
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
- Strong knowledge of popular cocktails, spirits, and wines.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification required upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or premium lounge setting.
- Extensive knowledge of mixology and craft cocktails.
- Fluency in multiple languages.
