Job Description
Join the FedEx Ground team as an Inventory Hand in Fairfield, California. This crucial role involves meticulously managing inventory, ensuring high accuracy in sorting, scanning, and tracking packages within our fast-paced distribution center. You must be prepared for shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and possess a strong commitment to precision and efficiency to maintain our operational excellence. This is an on-site position requiring consistent presence at our Fairfield facility to handle physical inventory operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute accurate scanning, sorting, and loading of packages according to established procedures.
- Perform physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies with meticulous attention to detail.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently, as required, after proper training.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, ensuring a secure workplace.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inventory status and operational issues.
- Adapt to varying workloads and shift schedules, including peak seasons, demonstrating flexibility and reliability.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg) consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer literacy for inventory scanning systems and data entry.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential for team operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory management role.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems and practices.
- Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar material handling equipment (certification a plus).
