Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Medical Transcriptionist to join our remote team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home. You will be responsible for accurately transcribing dictated medical reports, summaries, and correspondence for healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe medical dictations, including patient histories, physical exams, operative reports, consultation notes, and discharge summaries, with speed and accuracy.
- Review and edit transcribed reports for grammatical errors, punctuation, and clarity.
- Ensure all transcribed documents adhere to medical, legal, and ethical standards, maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
- Verify patient information and report specifics for accuracy.
- Manage and prioritize workload to meet established deadlines and turnaround times.
- Utilize medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology knowledge effectively.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding challenging dictations or discrepancies.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent English grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
- Proficiency in typing with a speed of at least 60 WPM and high accuracy
- Strong listening and comprehension abilities
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy (training provided)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with word processing software
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Transcription program or relevant certificate
- Familiarity with various medical specialties and report formats
- Experience with transcription software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Previous experience in a healthcare or administrative role
