Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Private Nanny to provide exceptional care for our two children, aged 6 and 9. The primary focus of this role will be school pick-ups, ensuring the children are transported safely home and engaged in constructive activities until parents return. This is a full-time position requiring a commitment to fostering a positive and stimulating environment for the children. The ideal candidate will be reliable, organized, and possess a genuine love for working with children, capable of managing daily routines, assisting with homework, and preparing healthy snacks. This role requires flexibility and a proactive attitude to meet the evolving needs of our family.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely pick up children from school daily and transport them home using personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities, both educational and recreational.
- Assist with homework completion and provide guidance where needed.
- Prepare healthy snacks and occasional light meals for the children.
- Manage children's schedules, including playdates, appointments, and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain a tidy and organized children's play area and bedrooms.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress, activities, and any concerns.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
- Run occasional errands related to children's needs (e.g., school supplies, groceries).
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a nanny or in a childcare role.
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Proficiency in English or French (bilingualism is a strong asset).
Preferred Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma or relevant childcare certifications.
- Experience with children in the 6-9 age range.
- References from previous childcare positions.
- Ability to swim.
- Non-smoker.
