Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Flight Nurse (RN) with an emergency focus to join our critical care aeromedical transport team in Temecula, CA. In this vital role, you will provide advanced life support, emergency interventions, and critical care monitoring to patients during air transport. This position requires an independent, quick-thinking, and resilient professional capable of delivering exceptional patient care in a dynamic and often high-pressure environment. You will work closely with pilots and paramedics, utilizing state-of-the-art medical equipment to ensure safe and effective patient transfers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced critical care and emergency medical interventions during air transport.
- Assess, stabilize, and manage critically ill or injured patients of all ages.
- Administer medications, initiate IVs, perform advanced airway management, and operate specialized medical equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with pilots and paramedics to ensure patient safety and optimize transport logistics.
- Maintain accurate patient records and complete all required documentation.
- Participate in ongoing training, simulations, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure aircraft readiness, including stocking supplies and checking equipment functionality.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Current unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent critical care experience (e.g., ICU, ED, CCU).
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC or ATLS certifications.
- CFRN or CCRN certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift patients, equipment, and perform duties in confined spaces and varying environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous flight nursing or pre-hospital critical care experience.
- Paramedic certification.
- Additional certifications such as NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E.
- Experience with rotor-wing operations.
