Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Texture & Material Tagger to join our dynamic 3D design team in Taunton. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals passionate about 3D design and digital asset management, eager to contribute to high-quality visual projects. As a Texture & Material Tagger, you will play a crucial role in organizing, categorizing, and applying metadata to a vast library of 3D textures and materials, ensuring they are easily searchable and accessible for our designers and artists. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and creativity of our 3D production pipeline, helping us deliver stunning visual experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Categorize and tag a wide range of 3D textures and materials based on predefined taxonomies and project requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in metadata application, including material type, properties, usage, and source.
  • Collaborate with 3D artists and designers to understand specific material needs and refine tagging conventions.
  • Perform quality control checks on tagged assets to maintain high standards of data integrity.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of material libraries and asset management workflows.
  • Research and identify new texture and material types to expand our asset database.
  • Contribute to documentation for tagging guidelines and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of 3D design principles and rendering concepts.
  • Familiarity with various material properties (e.g., diffuse, specular, normal maps, roughness).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and database management concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with 3D software such as Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or Cinema 4D.
  • Knowledge of asset management systems or digital asset libraries.
  • Previous experience in a role requiring data entry or categorization.
