Job Description
Are you a high school student in Arlington, VA, looking for a flexible, active, and rewarding part-time job that fits around your school schedule? DoorDash is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our High School Delivery Crew, with a primary focus on bike and scooter deliveries. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn money, stay active, and gain valuable work experience while contributing to your local community. No prior delivery experience is required – we’ll provide the necessary training and support to help you succeed! As a crucial part of our team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting food orders from local restaurants directly to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently pick up food orders from various partner restaurants within Arlington, VA.
- Deliver orders to customers' homes and businesses using a bicycle or scooter, following designated routes.
- Utilize a smartphone application for navigation, order management, and communication.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring timely, accurate, and courteous deliveries.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on duty.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of personal delivery equipment (bike/scooter).
- Handle food items with care to ensure quality and proper temperature upon delivery.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in high school.
- Possess a reliable bicycle or scooter and a smartphone with data plan.
- Ability to navigate using GPS and communicate effectively with customers and support.
- Punctual, reliable, and possessing a strong sense of responsibility.
- Capable of working independently and managing time efficiently.
- Comfortable with physical activity, including riding a bike/scooter for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the streets and neighborhoods of Arlington, VA.
- Previous informal experience in customer service, errands, or similar roles.
