Job Description
We are seeking a highly empathetic and professional Senior Companion Chauffeur with a dedicated focus on wellness and medical support to join our integrated healthcare team in Lakewood, CO. This crucial role involves providing safe, reliable, and comfortable transportation for our members, primarily to medical appointments, wellness activities, and personal errands. Beyond driving, you will serve as a compassionate companion, offering attentive support, ensuring comfort, and facilitating a positive experience for individuals who may have specific health or mobility needs. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional driving skills, a strong understanding of patient confidentiality, and a genuine commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. This is an on-site, full-time position critical to our mission of providing comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and punctually transport members to medical appointments, wellness centers, social engagements, and personal errands.
- Provide compassionate and respectful companionship, actively listening and engaging in supportive conversation.
- Assist members with mobility, including ingress and egress from vehicles, and navigating facilities as needed.
- Maintain a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained vehicle, ensuring all safety checks are performed regularly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and patient confidentiality protocols (HIPAA).
- Communicate effectively with members, their families, and care coordination teams regarding schedules and any arising needs.
- Accurately track mileage, appointments, and member interactions as required.
- Anticipate and respond to member needs with discretion and professionalism, especially those related to health conditions.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 5 years (60 months) of professional driving or chauffeuring experience.
- Demonstrated experience in companion care or working with seniors/individuals with special needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate demeanor.
- Strong understanding of local traffic laws and routes in the Lakewood, CO area.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
- Proficiency in using GPS and navigation systems.
- Ability to assist with mobility (e.g., wheelchair assistance, steadying support).
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience in a healthcare or medical transport setting.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy.
- Advanced defensive driving training.
- Personal vehicle suitable for professional transport (though company vehicle may be provided).
