Job Description

Procter & Gamble is seeking a Junior Formulation Chemist to join our innovative R&D team in Arvada, CO. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior chemists in the research, development, and optimization of cosmetic and skincare formulations.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments, including raw material evaluation, formulation mixing, and stability testing.
  • Record and analyze experimental data accurately, presenting findings to the R&D team.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, adhering to all safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Support scale-up activities from lab bench to pilot plant and manufacturing.
  • Participate in sensory evaluation panels and performance testing of new products.
  • Stay informed about new raw materials, technologies, and industry trends in cosmetics and personal care.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, marketing, and regulatory teams.
  • Undergo structured training programs to develop expertise in cosmetic chemistry, formulation principles, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of general chemistry principles.
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques and equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and precision in experimental work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or projects specifically related to cosmetic science, polymer chemistry, or organic chemistry.
  • Previous internship or lab experience (academic or industrial) in a relevant field.
  • Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).
  • Familiarity with cosmetic regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EU Cosmetic Regulations).
