Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit. This role is ideal for both experienced nurses looking to specialize and new graduates eager to start their career in a supportive environment, as ongoing training and mentorship are provided. As a Telemetry RN, you will play a critical role in monitoring cardiac rhythms, assessing patient conditions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care to patients with various cardiovascular conditions. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms (ECG) using telemetry systems, identifying and reporting changes to the medical team promptly.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and social factors, and document findings accurately.
  • Administer medications safely and effectively, including titrating cardiac drips, and monitor patient responses.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, medication management, and self-care techniques.
  • Respond to emergencies, including cardiac arrests, and initiate appropriate interventions according to hospital protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and complete electronic health records, ensuring all patient data is up-to-date.
  • Participate in daily rounds and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Adhere to all Bryan Health policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards, including those set by regulatory bodies.

Required Skills

  • Current unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nebraska or compact state licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire).
  • Previous experience in telemetry, cardiovascular, or critical care nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Familiarity with interpreting advanced ECG rhythms.
