Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Google Designer with a strong User Interface focus to join our dynamic design team in Dallas, TX. This entry-level position is ideal for someone passionate about crafting exceptional user experiences, with a keen eye for detail and a foundational understanding of Google’s Material Design principles. You will collaborate closely with senior designers, product managers, and engineers to bring innovative digital products to life, focusing on the visual and interactive elements of our applications and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for various digital products.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems, ensuring consistency with Google Material Design guidelines.
- Participate in user research activities, including usability testing and user interviews, to gather insights.
- Iterate on design solutions based on feedback from team members and user testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate user needs and business requirements into intuitive UI designs.
- Present design concepts and solutions to internal stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in UI/UX design.
- Prepare design assets and specifications for development teams.
Required Skills
- Foundational understanding of UI/UX design principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with Google Material Design guidelines.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS) is a plus.
- Strong visual design skills with an attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A portfolio demonstrating design thinking and visual design skills (academic projects included).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- Previous internship or project experience in a design-related role.
- Passion for learning and staying current with evolving design trends and technologies.
