Job Description
Are you passionate about decluttering and transforming spaces? Organized Chaos Halifax is seeking an enthusiastic and meticulous Seasonal Closet Organizer to join our dynamic team for the upcoming Spring and Fall seasons. This role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail, a knack for organization, and a desire to help clients achieve their ideal wardrobe and storage solutions. You will work directly with clients in their homes, providing expert guidance and hands-on assistance to sort, declutter, categorize, and organize closets and dressing areas, preparing them for seasonal transitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial consultations with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and goals for their closet space.
- Sort through clothing, accessories, and shoes with clients, assisting them in making decisions about what to keep, donate, or discard.
- Categorize and organize items logically and aesthetically within closets, drawers, and shelving units.
- Implement efficient storage solutions, utilizing existing organizational products or recommending new ones.
- Label containers, shelves, and sections for easy identification and maintenance.
- Provide practical advice and personalized systems to help clients maintain their newly organized closets.
- Handle client belongings with the utmost care, respect, and discretion.
- Communicate effectively with clients throughout the organizing process, ensuring their satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven exceptional organizational and decluttering skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 20 lbs), and move items as needed during organizing tasks.
- A keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in professional organizing, personal styling, or a related field.
- Knowledge of various closet organization systems and products.
- An understanding of fashion trends and wardrobe management.
- Certification from a professional organizing association (e.g., POC, NAPO) is a plus.
