Sysco Corporation is offering a unique chance to become a certified Forklift Driver through our fully funded training program. We are seeking motivated and safety-conscious individuals to join our dynamic team in Tampa, Florida. This full-time position is perfect for someone eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a leading global food service distributor. You will receive comprehensive training, obtain your forklift operator license at our expense, and become an integral part of our warehouse operations, ensuring efficient movement of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in and complete the forklift operator training program.
- Obtain and maintain a valid forklift operator certification, funded by Sysco.
- Safely and efficiently operate forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload products within the warehouse.
- Perform daily equipment checks and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and shipping products.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment.
Required Skills
- No prior forklift operating experience required – full training provided.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center setting (not mandatory, but a plus).
- Understanding of basic inventory principles.
