Job Description
Join our dedicated Environmental Services team as a Hospital Cleaner at Newport Hospital. In this vital role, you will ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to hygiene will directly contribute to patient recovery and overall hospital operations. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks in patient rooms, offices, public areas, and clinical spaces, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring all fixtures and surfaces are sanitized according to hospital standards.
- Handle and dispose of medical waste and general waste in accordance with strict safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and other essential items.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, reporting any malfunctions or shortages.
- Follow all infection control procedures and safety guidelines to prevent the spread of pathogens.
- Respond to spills and other emergency cleaning needs promptly and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
