Job Description

Orkin is looking for a motivated and ambitious Trainee Pest Control Officer to join our team in Midtown Detroit. This is a unique opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience in pest control, as we provide comprehensive, paid training and cover all costs associated with obtaining your pest control licensing. You will learn the science and art of effective pest management, working independently to service customer accounts, identify pest issues, and implement tailored solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Complete a comprehensive paid training program to learn all aspects of pest identification, treatment methods, safety protocols, and customer service.
- Obtain and maintain all necessary state and local pest control licensing, with all associated costs covered by Orkin.
- Independently manage a designated route, performing scheduled pest control services for residential and commercial clients.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify pest problems, entry points, and conducive conditions.
- Apply pest control products safely and effectively, following all federal, state, and company regulations.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers, explaining services performed, answering questions, and offering preventative advice.
- Maintain detailed records of services provided, products used, and customer interactions.
- Manage and organize company equipment, vehicle, and supplies.
- Uphold Orkin’s commitment to excellent customer service and satisfaction.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks (e.g., lifting, bending, kneeling).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and route management.
- A passion for problem-solving and helping people.
