Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic engineering team in Belleville, Ontario. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical features and infrastructure that impact millions of merchants globally. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying scalable web applications, contributing across the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment and maintenance. This position is open to international candidates requiring H1B or Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable and robust full-stack applications using modern web technologies.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define feature specifications and technical designs.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code for both front-end (React, Vue, or similar) and back-end (Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Python, Go) systems.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring high code quality.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues, providing timely resolutions.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technology stack evolution.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices, integrating relevant new technologies to improve our platform.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack web development.
- Proficiency in at least one modern front-end framework (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular).
- Strong command of a back-end language/framework (e.g., Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Python/Django, Go).
- Extensive experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with GraphQL.
- Prior experience in e-commerce or high-traffic web applications.
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
