Job Description
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented DIY Content Editor to join our dynamic remote team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about home improvement, crafts, and all things DIY, with a keen eye for what trends on platforms like Pinterest. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, writing, and editing engaging content, from step-by-step tutorials to inspirational roundups, that aligns with our brand voice and resonates with our audience. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your home office while collaborating with a talented team across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and pitch innovative DIY content ideas inspired by current trends on Pinterest and other social media platforms.
- Write clear, concise, and engaging articles, tutorials, and listicles on a variety of DIY topics, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Edit and proofread content for grammar, style, factual accuracy, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Optimize content for search engines (SEO) to maximize discoverability and traffic.
- Collaborate with photographers, videographers, and graphic designers to source or create compelling visual assets.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest DIY trends, materials, tools, and techniques.
- Manage content calendars and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to overall content strategy discussions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in content creation, editing, or journalism, specifically within the DIY, home improvement, or craft niche.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of US English grammar and style.
