Job Description
The Clark County School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated K-12 Music Teacher to inspire students of all ages through the power of music. This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and participation in the State Pension Plan, reflecting our commitment to our valued educators. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging music curriculum, fostering a love for music, and cultivating students’ artistic talents across elementary, middle, and high school levels within our Summerlin schools. You will have the opportunity to create memorable musical experiences, prepare students for performances, and integrate music education into the broader school community. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive music curriculum for K-12 students.
- Instruct students in various musical disciplines, including instrumental, vocal, music theory, and history.
- Organize and direct school-wide musical performances, concerts, and events.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student success.
- Manage and maintain musical instruments and equipment.
- Attend professional development workshops and district meetings.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field.
- Valid Nevada Teaching License with a Music endorsement (K-12).
- Proficiency in at least one musical instrument (e.g., piano, guitar, orchestral instrument).
- Strong understanding of music theory, history, and various genres.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse student needs and age groups.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Music Education or a related field.
- Experience teaching music at both elementary and secondary levels.
- Proficiency in multiple musical instruments or vocal instruction.
- Experience with music technology and software.
- Demonstrated success in directing school choirs or bands.
