Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our professional team as a Fertility Nurse, with a strong focus on In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). In this vital role, you will be a key point of contact for patients undergoing fertility treatments, providing expert clinical care, education, and emotional support throughout their journey. This position requires a strong understanding of reproductive endocrinology, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care. You will work closely with reproductive endocrinologists, embryologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing fertility treatments, particularly IVF cycles.
- Educate patients on medication administration, treatment protocols, and procedures (e.g., injections, monitoring, egg retrieval, embryo transfer).
- Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations.
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, diagnostic tests, and treatment cycles.
- Assist physicians with procedures in the clinic setting, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment, document all patient interactions and clinical data accurately in electronic health records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining complex medical information clearly and empathetically.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and anxieties.
- Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in daily huddles and team meetings to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
Required Skills
- Current active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and emotionally sensitive environment.
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and patient advocacy skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Previous experience in reproductive endocrinology, women's health, or maternal-child nursing.
- Certification in Infertility Nursing (e.g., CRNI) or willingness to obtain.
- Familiarity with IVF specific software or databases.
