Job Description
Join ModivCare as a Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver, where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring patients reach their medical appointments safely and on time. This position offers flexible shifts, allowing you to create a work-life balance that suits your needs. You will be responsible for transporting individuals with varying mobility needs to and from medical facilities, treatment centers, and other healthcare-related destinations. We are looking for empathetic, reliable, and professional individuals dedicated to providing excellent patient care and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company vehicle to transport patients to and from scheduled appointments.
- Assist patients with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including those using wheelchairs or requiring mobility assistance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe vehicle environment.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and electronic logs related to patient transport.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, their families, medical staff, and dispatch.
- Demonstrate compassion and patience, ensuring a comfortable and respectful experience for all passengers.
- Manage scheduling and routes efficiently to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
Required Skills
- Valid state Driver's License with a clean driving record for the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the Pasco County area.
- Ability to lift and assist patients, including operating wheelchair lifts and securing passengers.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in non-emergency medical transport or a related healthcare/service field.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
- Proficiency with navigation software and electronic logging devices.
