Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Seasonal Baristas to join our team in Thousand Oaks for the upcoming peak tourist season. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a passion for coffee, and love interacting with people from all walks of life. As a Seasonal Barista, you will be crucial in ensuring our high-volume tourist locations deliver the exceptional Starbucks experience, serving expertly crafted beverages and delicious food items with speed and a smile.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages to Starbucks quality standards.
- Operate point-of-sale systems and accurately handle cash and card transactions.
- Engage with customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and efficient manner, often in a high-volume setting.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including espresso machines, grinders, and service areas.
- Stock and replenish inventory, ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Follow health and safety guidelines, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service during busy periods.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and drink preparation.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings/late evenings.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a barista or in a customer service role within the food and beverage industry.
- Knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, and espresso preparation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
