Job Description

We are seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Executive Transit Lead to optimize and manage our extensive transit operations in the St. George region. This critical role demands a visionary leader with a proven track record in large-scale logistics and supply chain management. The Executive Transit Lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of transit network design, efficiency improvements, cost management, and the implementation of innovative solutions to enhance delivery speed and reliability. You will lead a dedicated team, driving performance and ensuring operational excellence while adhering to the highest safety and compliance standards. This is a high-impact position within a dynamic environment, requiring exceptional analytical abilities, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of complex logistical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for transit network optimization, route design, and capacity management.
  • Lead and mentor a team of transit professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for transit operations, identifying areas for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and technology, to ensure seamless integration and service delivery.
  • Implement new technologies and processes to enhance transit efficiency, visibility, and overall service quality.
  • Manage operational budgets, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential disruptions in transit operations.
  • Represent UPS in discussions with external partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies as needed.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in transit network design, optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in advanced logistics software and supply chain management systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MBA or MS in Supply Chain/Logistics).
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with global logistics operations and international shipping regulations.
  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technologies and future transit trends.
