Job Description
Are you a professional truck driver with a Class A CDL who can’t imagine leaving your beloved pet behind? Werner Enterprises is offering an incredible opportunity for OTR (Over-the-Road) drivers to bring their dogs with them. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle over long distances.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, company policies, and traffic laws.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of freight to various destinations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your truck and trailer.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Manage and care for your pet responsibly while on the road, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Keep your assigned truck clean and organized, including areas for your pet.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum of 6 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience (OTR preferred)
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the last 3-5 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Reliable and responsible, with a strong work ethic
- Ability to travel extensively for long periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat endorsement (H) or willingness to obtain
- Tanker endorsement (N) or willingness to obtain
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Proven ability to manage time and routes effectively
- Experience driving in various weather conditions
