Job Description
Join LSG Sky Chefs as an Airline Catering Evaluator and play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of quality and service. This on-site position at an airport location near Cincinnati involves meticulous evaluation of food preparation, presentation, and delivery processes. You will ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations, culinary specifications, and client expectations, contributing directly to the satisfaction of millions of airline passengers. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for quality and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on catering products and services at various stages, from kitchen preparation to aircraft loading.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as internal company standards.
- Evaluate culinary specifications, portion control, presentation, and overall food quality according to client agreements.
- Generate detailed evaluation reports, documenting findings, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
- Liaise with kitchen staff, operations teams, and airline representatives to address quality issues and implement improvements.
- Monitor vendor performance for raw materials and supplies, ensuring they meet specified quality benchmarks.
- Assist in the development and refinement of quality assurance protocols and training materials.
- Respond promptly to quality-related feedback and complaints, investigating root causes and facilitating resolutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control, assurance, or food safety within the food service industry.
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles and food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA).
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and interdepartmental collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced airport environment, including varying shifts.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain airport security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Experience in airline catering or large-scale institutional catering.
- Certified Professional in Food Safety (CP-FS) or similar certification.
- Knowledge of airline operational procedures and logistics.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, German) is a plus.
