As a Trainee, you will learn the ropes of A&R scouting, developing your skills in identifying, evaluating, and nurturing potential talent across various genres. Key Responsibilities

  • Actively scout for new and emerging musical talent by attending live shows, open mics, and industry events in Lubbock and surrounding regions.
  • Monitor online platforms (social media, streaming services, music blogs) to identify artists gaining traction and buzz.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local artists, producers, managers, and other industry contacts.
  • Listen to and evaluate demo submissions, providing insightful feedback and identifying potential for artist development.
  • Prepare detailed scouting reports, including artist profiles, music analysis, market potential, and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate with the A&R team to discuss findings, present potential signings, and contribute to strategy sessions.
  • Stay informed about current music trends, emerging genres, and shifts in artist development and consumption.
  • Assist in organizing artist showcases, studio sessions, and other talent-related activities as needed.
  • Represent Warner Music Group with professionalism and enthusiasm at all times.

Required Skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Arts Administration, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Prior experience working in the music industry (e.g., intern at a label, management company, venue, or radio station).
  • Established network within the local Lubbock music community.
  • Basic knowledge of legal aspects related to music contracts and intellectual property.
  • Experience with data analysis tools to track artist performance metrics.
