Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Package Handler for the morning shift at FedEx Ground in Oklahoma City. This vital role involves the efficient sorting, loading, and unloading of packages to ensure timely and accurate delivery. You will operate in a fast-paced warehouse environment, playing a crucial part in our logistics operations. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from company vehicles and conveyor belts.
- Scan packages and ensure proper sorting according to destination routes.
- Safely lift, carry, push, and pull packages weighing up to 75 lbs. (with assistance for heavier items).
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate equipment such as hand trucks and dollies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs. independently, and heavier items with assistance.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for the 4am-8am shift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in sorting packages.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with operating material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or GED.
