Job Description
We are seeking a highly vigilant and professional SIA/Licensed Security Guard for a static post at our facility in New Port Richey, Florida. This critical role involves maintaining a secure environment, protecting company assets, and ensuring the safety of personnel. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent observation skills, and be able to respond effectively to security situations while upholding FedEx’s high standards of service and security protocols. This is an on-site, static position requiring consistent presence and proactive vigilance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor premises and personnel through regular patrols and advanced CCTV surveillance systems.
- Control access points, verify credentials, and maintain accurate visitor and vehicle logs.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, following established protocols.
- Conduct thorough investigations of security breaches, theft, or suspicious activities and document findings.
- Prepare detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and other security-related documentation.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all personnel and visitors.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Operate security equipment and systems, including alarms, cameras, and communication devices.
- Provide a visible deterrent to unauthorized access and criminal activity.
Required Skills
- Valid Florida Security Guard Class D license (or equivalent state-issued license).
- Minimum of 2 years of proven security experience, preferably in a static post or corporate environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to operate CCTV and access control systems.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite).
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a logistics, warehouse, or distribution center security role.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Knowledge of loss prevention strategies.
- Experience with de-escalation techniques.
- Military or law enforcement background.
