Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented FedEx Supply Chain Planner to join our dynamic team in Gaithersburg, Maryland. In this critical role, you will be responsible for optimizing the flow of materials and products through our supply chain, with a specific focus on leveraging FedEx services and data. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of components and finished goods for our cutting-edge technology programs. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive supply chain plans utilizing FedEx services for optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor and analyze FedEx shipping data, transit times, and delivery performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, manufacturing, and program teams to forecast demand, schedule shipments, and manage inventory levels.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with FedEx account representatives and other logistics providers to ensure favorable terms and service levels.
- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks, including disruptions, delays, and cost overruns.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on supply chain performance, key metrics, and strategic recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant domestic and international shipping regulations and company policies.
- Utilize advanced planning software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) to manage and track supply chain activities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain planning, logistics, or transportation management.
- Proven experience working with FedEx services, including freight, express, and international shipping.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and other analytical tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge of supply chain best practices and industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
- APICS CSCP or CPIM certification.
- Experience with SAP or other major ERP systems.
- Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing supply chains.
- Project management experience.
