Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Foreign Policy Associate to join our Public Sector Practice with a specific focus on the Middle East and Asia regions. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects, advising clients on complex geopolitical dynamics, strategic initiatives, and policy development. The Associate will conduct in-depth research, synthesize complex information, develop strategic recommendations, and collaborate with diverse teams to deliver actionable insights to our clients. This position requires a deep understanding of the political, economic, and social landscapes of the Middle East and Asia, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct rigorous qualitative and quantitative research on foreign policy issues, geopolitical trends, and regional dynamics in the Middle East and Asia.
  • Analyze complex datasets, policy documents, and expert opinions to develop insightful perspectives and strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare compelling presentations, reports, and briefings for senior clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse project teams, including consultants, subject matter experts, and client personnel.
  • Contribute to business development activities by identifying new opportunities and supporting proposal development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and external experts in the foreign policy domain.
  • Stay abreast of current events and emerging trends impacting the Middle East and Asia regions.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in foreign policy, international relations, or regional studies, with a strong focus on the Middle East and Asia.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise insights.
  • Proficiency in research methodologies and data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in International Relations, Political Science, Area Studies, or a related field.
  • Fluency or proficiency in a relevant regional language (e.g., Arabic, Farsi, Mandarin, Japanese, Hindi).
  • Experience working in government, international organizations, think tanks, or consulting firms focused on foreign policy.
  • Prior experience living or working in the Middle East or Asia.
