Job Description

Are you a master of efficiency with a passion for optimising digital workflows? BT Group plc is seeking a Google Workflow Optimizer to join our operations team in Wakefield. This pivotal role will focus on enhancing our operational efficiency and promoting ‘Smart Work’ principles by designing, implementing, and refining workflows primarily utilising Google Workspace tools. You will be instrumental in identifying bottlenecks, streamlining processes, and driving adoption of best practices across various departments to ensure seamless and productive operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse existing operational workflows to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Design and implement optimised workflows using Google Workspace applications (e.g., Google Sheets, Docs, Forms, Calendar, Apps Script, AppSheet).
  • Develop and maintain custom scripts and automations within Google Apps Script to enhance functionality and integrate various tools.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their unique needs and tailor workflow solutions accordingly.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on new workflows and Google Workspace best practices.
  • Monitor the performance of implemented workflows, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Document workflow processes, changes, and user guides to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Champion 'Smart Work' initiatives, promoting a culture of efficiency, collaboration, and digital innovation.
  • Stay abreast of new Google Workspace features and third-party integrations to continually enhance our operational toolkit.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in process analysis, workflow design, and optimization.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), including Sheets, Docs, Forms, Drive, and Calendar.
  • Strong experience with Google Apps Script for automation and customisation.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Google Workspace Administrator or Developer certifications.
  • Experience with other workflow automation platforms (e.g., Zapier, IFTTT) or low-code platforms like Google AppSheet.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in change management and user adoption strategies.
  • Background in the telecommunications or IT services industry.
