Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Non-Sterile Compounding Technician to join our specialized pharmacy team in Roseville, CA. In this role, you will be crucial in preparing custom medications, adhering to strict quality and safety standards. This position requires precision, a strong understanding of pharmaceutical ingredients, and a commitment to patient-centered care. You will work closely with pharmacists to ensure accurate and timely preparation of tailored medications, making a direct impact on our patients’ well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare non-sterile compounded medications accurately and efficiently according to specific prescriptions and established protocols.
  • Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records of all compounding activities, including ingredients used, batch numbers, and expiration dates.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned, calibrated, and maintained.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies regarding compounding and safety.
  • Perform quality control checks on finished products to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Manage and organize compounding inventory, including ordering and stocking raw materials.
  • Assist pharmacists with patient consultations regarding compounded medications, as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with compounding best practices.

Required Skills

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in California.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform precise measurements and calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a compounding pharmacy setting.
  • Knowledge of non-sterile compounding techniques and equipment.
  • Understanding of USP 795 guidelines.
  • Associate's degree or higher in a related scientific field.
