Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport non-emergency patients between departments, examination rooms, and other areas within healthcare facilities.
- Assist patients with transfers to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, and other mobility aids.
- Ensure patient comfort and privacy during transport, maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff regarding transport schedules and patient needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of transport equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damages promptly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Provide basic patient support and observation during transport, reporting any changes in condition to nursing staff.
- Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal communication skills and a compassionate attitude.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively within a team.
- Physical stamina to push, pull, lift, and assist patients as required throughout shifts.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and protocols.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (training can be provided).
- A valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver's license may be an asset for certain roles.
