Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pinterest Fleet Logistics specialist with a strong focus on Autonomous Technologies to join our innovative team in Joliet, IL. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and managing our nascent fleet operations, with a particular emphasis on integrating and overseeing autonomous vehicle systems. You will work at the intersection of logistics, technology, and operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and scalable fleet deployment to support Pinterest’s evolving needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the acquisition, deployment, and maintenance of our logistics fleet, with a significant focus on autonomous vehicles.
- Oversee day-to-day fleet operations, including route planning, scheduling, vehicle allocation, and performance monitoring for both traditional and autonomous assets.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and R&D teams to integrate autonomous driving technologies into logistics workflows and identify opportunities for innovation.
- Manage vendor relationships with autonomous vehicle providers, technology partners, and maintenance service suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including those specific to autonomous vehicle operation.
- Analyze fleet data to identify trends, optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve safety and reliability.
- Develop and maintain robust contingency plans for operational disruptions, especially concerning autonomous vehicle functionality.
- Train and manage operational staff on new technologies and best practices in fleet logistics and autonomous vehicle supervision.
- Prepare and present reports on fleet performance, budget utilization, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Demonstrated understanding of autonomous vehicle technologies and their application in logistics.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and methods.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with early-stage autonomous vehicle deployments or pilot programs.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for autonomous vehicles.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Certifications in logistics, project management (PMP), or lean methodologies.
