Job Description
Join Transport for NSW as a Public Ferry Deckhand Trainee and embark on an exciting career on Sydney Harbour! As a Trainee, you will receive comprehensive hands-on training and mentorship, learning all aspects of ferry operations, safety procedures, and customer assistance. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior deckhands and masters with vessel mooring, unmooring, and berthing procedures.
- Learn and apply all safety procedures, including emergency response, fire fighting, and first aid.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the vessel's deck and passenger areas.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance tasks on deck equipment under supervision.
- Participate in safety drills and ongoing training programs.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering passenger inquiries and offering assistance.
- Adhere to all maritime regulations and company policies.
- Operate deck equipment such as ropes, fenders, and gangways safely and efficiently.
