Job Description

Turner Construction Company is seeking a motivated Student Project Coordinator to join our team in Fox Valley, Aurora, Illinois. This part-time role offers an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, supporting our project teams with both construction operations and the integration of information technology solutions. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth project workflows, assisting with data management, and contributing to the digital transformation of our construction processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers and engineers in daily project coordination tasks.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of construction management software and IT tools.
  • Organize and maintain project documentation, both physical and digital, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Help track project progress, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams, stakeholders, and IT support.
  • Conduct basic data analysis and generate reports to support decision-making.
  • Participate in project meetings, taking minutes and tracking action items.
  • Assist with quality control procedures and safety documentation.
  • Provide general administrative support to the project team as needed.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in the construction industry and project management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of IT systems and software applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in a construction or IT-related setting.
  • Familiarity with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, BIM 360).
  • Knowledge of basic data analysis tools or database management.
  • Experience with CAD software or other design tools.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
