Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Linehaul Drivers to join our dynamic team at UPS in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This crucial role involves safely and efficiently transporting freight between various UPS facilities across predetermined routes, primarily during the night shift. As a UPS Linehaul Driver, you will be an essential part of our vast network, ensuring timely deliveries and contributing to our commitment to customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (Class A CDL) safely and efficiently over long distances, adhering to all DOT regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues immediately.
- Transport freight between UPS hubs and other designated locations, ensuring timely arrival and departure.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and records in compliance with state and federal regulations, utilizing Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
- Secure loads properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members regarding route status, delays, or issues.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols at all times.
- Represent UPS professionally in all interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
- Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
- Physical ability to perform routine tasks associated with truck driving, including hooking/unhooking trailers and inspecting equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with doubles/triples endorsements.
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement.
- Experience operating within the UPS network or similar high-volume logistics environments.
- Familiarity with local and regional routes around Albuquerque and the broader New Mexico area.
