Job Description
As a User Trust & Safety Analyst with a Pinterest Policy focus at Meta Platforms, Inc., you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our online community by enforcing content policies and addressing potential harm across various platforms. This specialized role requires a deep understanding of user behavior, content trends, and the ability to interpret and apply complex policy guidelines, with a specific emphasis on policies relevant to visual social media platforms like Pinterest. You will be at the forefront of policy enforcement, investigating complex cases, responding to emerging threats, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to evolve our safety measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze user-generated content for violations of community guidelines, with a specific focus on areas relevant to visual discovery platforms such as Pinterest.
- Investigate complex policy violations and potential abuse cases, employing critical thinking and analytical skills to make accurate and consistent enforcement decisions.
- Apply platform policies consistently and accurately across a diverse range of content types and user contexts.
- Identify and escalate emerging trends in policy violations, potential threats, and system vulnerabilities to relevant teams.
- Collaborate with policy development, product, engineering, and legal teams to improve tools, policies, and processes.
- Contribute to the development of internal documentation, training materials, and best practices for policy enforcement.
- Participate in on-call rotations or provide support during critical incidents as needed.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in trust & safety, content moderation, online operations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex policy guidelines to specific content and user behavior scenarios.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and root causes of issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound judgments in ambiguous situations.
- High level of empathy, integrity, and a commitment to user safety.
- Proficiency in using analytical tools and internal dashboards for data review.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Criminology, Law, Communications, Data Science).
- Direct experience with Pinterest platform policies, community guidelines, or similar visual social media platforms.
- Experience with SQL or other data querying languages.
- Fluency in multiple languages.
- Familiarity with various online abuse typologies (e.g., hate speech, misinformation, self-harm, child exploitation).
