Job Description
Are you a skilled and safety-conscious Class A CDL driver looking to maximize your earning potential on weekends? Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking ‘Weekend Warriors’ to join our Pasco team. This part-time position offers premium rates for Saturday and Sunday shifts, allowing you to earn top dollar while maintaining flexibility during the week. You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of LTL freight, playing a crucial role in our weekend operations and ensuring timely deliveries for our valued customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial motor vehicles, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned equipment.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including logs, manifests, and inspection reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Ensure timely and secure delivery of freight, handling cargo with care.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Adhere to scheduled shifts and routes, demonstrating reliability.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Hazmat endorsement (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and Hours of Service (HOS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting and maneuvering freight
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight operations
- Doubles/Triples endorsement
- Experience operating various types of commercial vehicles
- Strong geographical knowledge of the Pacific Northwest region
