Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented WFH Data Manager to join our growing team. This is a unique hybrid role, blending technical data management expertise with crucial administrative support functions. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and security of our various data sets, while also providing essential operational support to our data-driven initiatives. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from your home office anywhere within Canada, with a preference for candidates based in Alberta to facilitate occasional team meet-ups if required (though not mandatory for this remote role).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain data integrity across various databases and platforms, performing regular audits and clean-ups.
- Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and compliance.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for data processes, structures, and workflows.
- Provide technical support for data-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving data discrepancies.
- Generate custom reports and dashboards using SQL and other reporting tools to support business intelligence needs.
- Collaborate with technical teams to optimize data storage, retrieval, and analysis systems.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to project coordination, scheduling, and communication for data initiatives.
- Support the onboarding and training of new team members on data best practices and tools.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal security policies.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and data automation.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in data management or a similar technical role.
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of database concepts and data modeling.
- Experience with data governance, quality, and security principles.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to multitask.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate effectively with a distributed team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Experience with data visualization techniques.
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Python for data automation.
- Previous experience in a hybrid technical and administrative role.
