Job Description

UPS is seeking a dedicated and professional UPS Ambulance Driver for Facility Medical Support to join our team in Simi Valley, CA. In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing immediate medical assistance and emergency transport services within and around our facility. You will respond to medical emergencies, assess patient conditions, administer basic and advanced life support as needed, and safely transport individuals to appropriate medical facilities when necessary. This position requires a strong commitment to safety protocols, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to operate an ambulance in a fast-paced environment. You will be an integral part of our occupational health and safety team, contributing to a secure and supportive workplace for all UPS employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and incidents within the UPS facility and immediate surrounding areas.
  • Assess patient conditions, stabilize injuries, and provide initial medical treatment according to established protocols and certifications (EMT/Paramedic).
  • Safely operate and maintain the ambulance vehicle, ensuring it is always ready for emergency deployment.
  • Transport injured or ill employees to external medical facilities, ensuring continuous care during transit.
  • Document all patient care activities, medical interventions, and transport details accurately and thoroughly.
  • Maintain all medical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are stocked, functional, and within expiration dates.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, DOT).
  • Collaborate with the facility's safety team, human resources, and local emergency services as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain certifications and enhance skills.

Required Skills

  • Valid State Driver's License with an excellent driving record.
  • Current EMT or Paramedic certification from a recognized state agency.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ambulance Driver or Emergency Medical Technician.
  • Ability to lift and move patients with assistance, often in challenging conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Proficiency in medical documentation and record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an occupational health or industrial medical support setting.
  • PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) or ITLS (International Trauma Life Support) certification.
  • Familiarity with UPS facility operations and safety protocols.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Emergency Medical Services or a related field.
