Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Studio Recording Engineer to join our team for night shifts. This is an incredible opportunity to work with top-tier recording equipment and contribute to high-profile projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of audio engineering principles, a meticulous ear, and a passion for crafting exceptional soundscapes. You will be responsible for all aspects of recording, mixing, and mastering during designated night hours, ensuring the studio operates flawlessly and client needs are met with the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a wide array of high-end analog and digital recording equipment, including consoles, microphones, preamps, and outboard gear.
- Set up, mic, and record various instruments and vocals according to artistic and technical specifications.
- Execute mixing and mastering processes with precision, ensuring optimal sonic quality, balance, and dynamics.
- Collaborate effectively with artists, producers, and other studio personnel to achieve desired creative outcomes.
- Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently to minimize disruptions.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of studio equipment to ensure peak performance.
- Manage session files, backups, and archives meticulously.
- Adhere to strict studio policies regarding confidentiality and intellectual property.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspiring studio environment during night shifts.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with industry-standard DAWs (Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live).
- Expert knowledge of microphone types, placement techniques, and signal flow.
- Strong understanding of acoustics, gain staging, compression, EQ, and other audio processing techniques.
- Demonstrable experience with large-format analog consoles and digital mixing systems.
- Exceptional listening skills and a critical ear for detail.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
- Certifications in specific audio software or hardware platforms.
- Experience with film scoring, sound design, or post-production.
- Proficiency in music theory and instrumental performance.
- Previous experience working night shifts in a professional studio setting.
