Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable 15-year-old teens to join our team as a Laundry Aide. This entry-level, part-time position offers a valuable opportunity to gain work experience in a supportive healthcare setting. As a Laundry Aide, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for our residents by ensuring linens and personal clothing are properly collected, laundered, and distributed. This role is crucial to the daily comfort and well-being of our residents and offers a chance to develop important life skills such as responsibility, teamwork, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect soiled linens and residents' personal clothing from designated areas.
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute clean linens and clothing according to established procedures.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to supervisors.
- Adhere to all sanitation, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a volunteer or similar role (e.g., helping with household chores, community service) is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An interest in healthcare or helping the elderly.
