Job Description

Are you passionate about technology and helping others? Bell Canada is looking for a dedicated PC Setup Aide to provide essential support for our customers in Halifax. In this role, you will be the front-line expert, assisting customers with the setup and configuration of their personal computers, ensuring smooth internet connectivity, and troubleshooting common technical issues directly in their homes. Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer homes within the Halifax area to perform PC setup and configuration.
  • Install, connect, and troubleshoot internet services (Wi-Fi, wired connections) on various devices.
  • Assist customers with basic software installation and peripheral device setup (printers, scanners, etc.).
  • Provide clear, patient, and friendly guidance to customers on how to use their newly set-up systems and resolve minor issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve common hardware and software problems related to home connectivity and PC performance.
  • Ensure complete customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and technical assistance.
  • Document service calls, resolutions, and customer interactions accurately.
  • Adhere to all company safety guidelines and service protocols during on-site visits.

Required Skills

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware components and software operating systems (Windows, macOS).
  • Familiarity with home networking concepts (routers, Wi-Fi, Ethernet).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to customer locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in IT support, technical customer service, or a similar field.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+).
  • Experience with smart home devices and IoT connectivity.
  • Knowledge of basic cybersecurity practices for home users.
