Job Description
Join Target as a Weekend Student Retail Associate and become an essential part of our team, providing exceptional service to our guests. This part-time role is perfect for students looking to gain valuable retail experience, work in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy a fantastic staff discount. You will support our store operations during peak weekend hours, ensuring shelves are stocked, the store is tidy, and guests find exactly what they need with a smile.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide assistance with product location and selection.
- Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately, including returns and exchanges.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, including stocking shelves and arranging displays.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, processing, and organizing merchandise.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals and provide a positive shopping experience.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security guidelines.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly throughout a shift.
- Availability to work weekend shifts (Saturdays and/or Sundays).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is a plus, but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (or currently enrolled).
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
