Job Description
Are you passionate about childcare and eager to launch a rewarding career as a professional nanny? The Nanny Agency NYC is excited to offer a unique opportunity for aspiring nannies to join our team through our Professional Mentorship for New Siters program. This role is designed for individuals with limited or no prior professional nanny experience who possess a genuine love for children and a strong desire to learn and grow. You will be matched with a supportive family in Brooklyn and receive hands-on guidance and structured mentorship from seasoned nanny professionals, ensuring you develop the skills and confidence needed to excel in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, safe, and engaging care for children ranging from infants to school-aged, tailored to the specific family's needs.
- Adhere to the family's established routines for meals, naps, play, and educational activities.
- Facilitate age-appropriate developmental activities and creative play both indoors and outdoors.
- Prepare healthy snacks and meals for children.
- Assist with light household duties related to childcare, such as tidying play areas and children's laundry.
- Maintain open and consistent communication with parents regarding children's daily activities and progress.
- Actively participate in regular mentorship sessions, applying learned techniques and seeking feedback.
- Complete all required training modules and certifications within the program timeline.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for the children at all times.
- Transport children to and from school or extracurricular activities as needed.
Required Skills
- Genuine passion for working with children and a nurturing demeanor.
- High level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and adapt to various family environments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of child development and safety practices.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Clean background check and driving record (if driving is required).
- Willingness to commit to a structured mentorship program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in babysitting, camp counseling, or volunteer work with children.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire).
- Some college coursework in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or related fields.
- Fluency in a second language.
- Non-smoker.
